Real Estate
Homesites here are positioned to make the most of their
rarified surroundings. All lots are sited either on the lake
or in preserve settings with lake access. Throughout the
property and its neighboring lands, exploring on foot or by
boat opens up thrilling mountain panoramas.
One of the finest spots for fishing in the Carolinas, Lake
Rhodhiss has the densest population of fish of all the lakes
in the Catawba River chain. And because the lake has a
sand—not clay—bottom, the waters here are crystal clear on
most days.

Sport fishermen will find
plenty of fish, especially bass.
Spanning over 3,000 acres, the lake produces bass as large as
10 pounds. There are five boat launches and one marina along
its shores, and its water level remains constant, where other
lakes in the Carolinas can vary dramatically.
Lake & Water Activities
For those interested in venturing farther out, Lake James is a
man-made lake formed between 1916 and 1923, featuring 150
miles of wooded shoreline. Two boat ramps provided are within
the park and several privately operated launch sites circle
the lake.

The lake offers every kind of water sport.
Every dockable homesite in The Settings of Lake Rhodhiss comes
with a dock permit, which saves you the time and energy it
would take to secure one yourself and guarantees you a dock
once your dock design is approved.
The Settings of Lake Rhodhiss lies five miles north of I-40,
providing easy access to an exciting region. Classic small
towns like Valdese, Morganton and Hickory offer an array of
interesting restaurants and unique shops, plus excellent
mountain golf courses.
