Spring Island’s policies and guidelines emphasize coexistence with its sensitive Lowcountry environment. The Spring Island Trust was created to insure the preservation of the 1,200 acre nature preserve, the timeless beauty, and the long term maintenance of the natural habitat.

In keeping with its naturalist theme, residents play golf on a private championship course designed by Arnold Palmer. This challenging and highly acclaimed course has the distinction of being a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.
